After the strong opposition from minority groups and minority organizations state government stopped funding for madrasas. The commission demanded that the children must be go to school despite of denial of proper Education. The request have been given to Chief Secretary of states and the administrators of the Union territories.
In the Commissions argument , it is stated that Children in madrasas denied proper Education theme while a dearth of trained teachers was also alleged. Commission Chairperson Priyank Kangoongo stated that the recommendation is based on a report after nine years of comprehensive study. She said if the government fail to implement the decision , the commission will move to court .
There are three types of madrasas in the country which are recognized, unrecognized and unmapped. NDA ally LGP came out against decision. Priyank kanoongo also lashed out against Kerala government lying that no madrasas were functioning in the state . There is also report that the teacher and madrasa board each deposit Rs. 50 for month for setting up a welfare fund for madrasas teachers. 23,809 madrasa teachers are members of welfare fund. Kanoongo also pointed out the recurring incident of children getting molested in madrasas.
They go through the hardships of punishments and molestation in charge of various reasons . Opposition argued CM Pinarayi Vijayan has no limitation to stop madrasas in Kerala . There also have a good great confidence to do what the Commission argued in the Supreme court. Before awarding support for madrasa teachers Pinarayi Vijayan should think twice to get over from Commission report.
